At home companions provide emotional support, socialization and assistance with nonmedical daily tasks such as shopping, meal preparation, bathing and transportation to doctor appointments.
One of the primary roles of an at home companion is providing social interactions and support, helping improve mental health while decreasing feelings of isolation and loneliness.
They provide companionship
Home care companions provide much-needed emotional and social support for older adults. Often acting as true friends, home care companions accompany older adults on walks, games and outings as well as offering listening ear support as well as confidence building boost. They may even provide transportation for senior centers, healthcare appointments and therapy appointments or special events.
