The Texas Civil War Museum
is a destination which tells the story of the Civil War soldier 1861-1865.
It is an artifact driven museum with a broad range of collections from both
the North and the South, the home front and the veterans. Victorian era
women’s and children’s clothing continues to tell the story using fashion
trends. This uniquely bridges the hardships of a wartime lifestyle to the
abundant lifestyle of a reunited country at the end of the century. This
curriculum will allow teachers and school students an opportunity to
research and interpret the story and its historical significance.
As the Texas Civil War Museum is a learning
museum, there are activities developed to accompany as student's visit to
our facilities in accordance with TEKS. Many of the activities will also be
compatible with other curriculums other than history, such as math, English,
geography, art, journalism, speech/communications. |
